How I can train the language from home? It is common to hear this question and for this, below, we will try to offer you a simple idea, but one that allows a great multitude of training options: a homemade puzzle to work with language with children.

Useful for all those children from five or six years with whom it is intended to train and improve aspects of language such as: vocabulary, sentence construction, oral speech, sentence comprehension or even spatial concepts (up-down, inside-outside , right-left, etc.)

Next, we will tell you more about the creation of the material that we will need and the variety of tasks that we can play with it from home. In three simple steps we can create a multitude of language training puzzles, easy and inexpensive, being able to create as many options as you want:

- Choose a sheet
Through the internet or even magazines we can search for images of characters or places that we like. Those stamps that contain many small details will be especially useful. We must print two exactly the same or, failing that, photocopy the original to have two copies.

- Grids on the sheets
Next, with a simple marker and, even with the computer if you prefer and have control, we will draw a grid on both sheets, with as many squares as puzzle pieces we want to obtain. Before doing the division, we must take into account the level and age that we are going to want to train, being able to do simple puzzles of about 6 pieces and up to 20 pieces or perhaps more to increase difficulty.

- Laminate and cut
As the last step in the preparation of the material, we always advise to laminate both sheets to harden, protect and facilitate the manipulation of what will be the puzzle, although this last step will always be totally optional. Subsequently, only one of the two sheets must be cut following the grids, leaving the other with the grids visible and simply uncut since it is the one that has to serve as a model and reference.

And it is time to play, to have fun and, above all, to train the child's language. How can we take advantage of the created puzzle? Here we propose three fun activities

1. Memory and speed
Placing all the pieces face down, without having the original board in sight, we will have to turn a small piece and observe it carefully for a few minutes. Then it will be important to try to say out loud all the details that we remember (for example: there was a piece of red pants and a basketball just below it) and then turn the board. The winner is the one who is faster to find the exact place where the piece belongs.

2. You explain, I find
Placing all the pieces face down and the board face up, one will alternately explain what he sees in the piece and the other, according to the details explained by the first one, will have to find which part of the board he refers to. It is a game or a team dynamic, where a very detailed explanation is necessary (for example: look on the board for a piece where you see a small piece of cloud and a ray of sunlight, you also see a green bird nearby and a plane away).

3. Accumulating pieces
The development of this proposal is simple: all the pieces are placed on the table and, giving a clear slogan such as' look for images that start with the letter p ',' look for images that are brown 'or' look for images that are related with the school ', we will have to find those pieces that are requested. The one who locates what is asked will win, but always justifying it, of course, for example, p for ball, brown stones or school pencil, and later placing it on the board.
